I want my writing to do good. Sure, it entertains people, but I wanted to go beyond that and make sure that every book I sell (be that e-book or paperback) does some good 'out there' and so I decided that each of my books would have a charity partner who will receive £1 from every sale. That's the whole ethos of Lumina Publications.

My first book is Summer at Tillingford Hall which is partnered with The Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation (DSMF), a drugs education charity. The DSMF released a press release in the autumn when we first announced this partnership which explains well what it's all about.
I chose DSMF as I was moved by Fiona's story about losing her sixteen year-old son, Daniel through misuse of drugs. There's bit of drug usage in Summer at Tillingford Hall and I wanted to work with a charity that helps people to understand what's out there and what to do about it in a non-judgemental way. I can't tell you more without spoilers, so... read the book!
I'm looking for charity partners for the next two books.
A Little Treat on Honey Street is about Laura saving the Tillingham village stores, so we're looking for a charity that helps build rural communities, for example by sustaining community shops, the preservation of village amenities such as halls, churches and playgrounds. We’re particularly interested in hearing from Christian charities who offer services to everyone regardless of their faith position as the church and clergy feature strongly in this book.
Christmas at Tillingford Hall is about Charlotte restoring the historic gardens at Tillingford Hall and I'm looking to partner with a charity which encourages the planting and conservation of trees or one which encourages city children to enjoy the countryside.
You can find out more about how it works and how to apply here.
