Charity Partners

How the partnerships work

We will give £1 from every electronic and paper copy of every partnered book that we sell in the UK (the international situation is more complex and will be clarified in due course) to our charity partners. As a new enterprise, we can’t project the level of income our partners will receive and this should definitely not be relied on.

They will publicise the book to their stakeholders and enable us to sell the book via their website / shop / events / social media feeds.

This is not a cheap marketing ploy on our behalf – we’re not likely to be in profit for a few years – it’s a genuine desire to raise money for charity.

We will operate the partnership on the basis of a non-binding statement of intent or Memorandum of Understanding which can be reviewed at any time (although may well change in future). For full Ts and Cs please get in touch.

What we’re looking for from Charity partners

  1. Your turnover is currently at least £100k a year but no more than £1m a year. The amount you will get from this partnership (which could be a few £100 or a few £1,000 a year) needs to make a genuine difference to you.

  2. You have at least four trustees who meet at least four times a year.

  3. You have been running for at least eighteen months and have produced at least one Annual Report which is available to read on the Charity Commission website.

  4. You have a three- or five-year plan for growth. As our partnership will be ‘in perpetuity’ inasmuch as possible, we’re not looking for small one-off projects but small-medium sized charities with a good-sized audience, a clear vision and plans for growth.

What kind of charities do we want to partner with?

Each book is looking for a specific partner that is relevant to the content of the book. There will be more books in future but here are the two that we aim to release in 2025.

A Little Treat is about Laura saving the Tillingham village stores, so we’re looking for a charity that helps build rural communities, for example by sustaining community shops, the preservation of village amenities such as halls, churches and playgrounds. As there are several Christians in the story, we’re particularly interested in hearing from Christian charities who offer services to everyone regardless of their faith position.

Christmas at Tillingford Hall is about Charlotte restoring the historic gardens at Tillingford Hall and we’re looking to partner with a charity which encourages the planting and conservation of trees or one which encourages city children to enjoy the countryside.

How can you apply?

We don’t want to place an onerous burden on small charities and aim to keep our application process truly as simple as possible so it’s a two-stage process. Firstly, we just want to know who you are, whether you meet the criteria and why you’re interested in partnering with us. If you meet all those criteria, we will be in touch to find out more about you. We can only partner one charity for each book, so if our the answer is negative, please accept that outcome.
