The Honourable Guy Tillingford, the ideal modern British aristocrat, is the heir to Tillingford Hall and, although his father Lord Tillingford is officially in charge of the running of the Hall, with his strong work ethic and head for business, Guy is gradually taking over the management of the estate.
Educated at the Winchester College and Bristol University, Guy is a highly intelligent and valued member of the team at Hogghedge, a London-based Hedge Fund. However, with his passion for art and heritage and his practical organisational skills he finds his day job unfulfilling and stressful. He can’t wait until the day when he can take over the running of the family home full time.
He's very keen to open Tillingford Hall to the public, not only to raise the funds necessary for the upkeep of a big, historic property, but also because he wants to give others a chance to enjoy the beautiful setting in which he grew up.
Guy has a very strong social conscience and works with children in South London who are at risk of getting into gangs, mentoring difficult teenagers. He takes this role very seriously, even accompanying young people to court hearings or meeting with their social workers or head teachers, especially when the children’s own parents or carers aren’t available to support them. He intends to employ some of these young people at Tillingford Hall when he gets the chance.
He's also a keen environmentalist and has a big vision of how to maximise profit from the Tillingford Estate while increasing its sustainability.
As a handsome, eligible, aristocratic bachelor he’s never far from the gossip columns, but he dislikes the of attention, especially the scrutiny of his difficult on-off relationship with former super model Sahara Seaton-Smyth, sister of his best friend Sebastian.
In all of his dreams and plans, he feels the lack of a supportive partner who understands his vision and can match his energy. Could Alice Merrow, the clever, hard-working art curator who comes to Tillingford Hall to catalogue the family’s art collection and has no interest in celebrity or wealth be the perfect wife for the perfect modern British hero?
PS this picture is generated by AI (sorry… I’ll plant a tree to offset the carbon) and he looks a bit too thin in the face and a bit too young. Why not read Summer at Tillingford Hall and then you can use your imagination instead?
