Temporary Cover for Christmas at Tillingford Hall
Could your charity make £££s out of this book?

I am bringing out two new books this year so we at Lumina Publications are looking for two new charity partners who will receive £1 per copy sold in perpetuity. It won't be much to begin with but it could all add up as I become better known and sell more books.

As a professional fundraiser, I’ve noticed that it’s been getting harder and harder to raise funds, particularly for small charities. I wanted to find a way to turn the tables and be the philanthropist myself by creating an additional income source I could afford to give away.

This is not a cheap marketing ploy – Lumina is not likely to be in profit for a while, which is why we decided to give £1 per copy rather than a share of profits, reflecting a genuine desire to raise money for charity and bring additional meaning to the publication of each novel. We want partners to feel some ownership of the books and so we’re seeking partners who are relevant to each story.

Fiona Spargo-Mabbs, founder and director of the Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation, the first charity to benefit from the scheme (receiving funding from my debut, Summer at Tillingford Hall) adds: “This is a really creative approach to fundraising in challenging times, and we’re very grateful to Flora for choosing our charity to benefit from the first of her books.”

A Little Treat on Honey Street is about Laura saving the Tillingham village stores, so we’re looking for a charity that helps build rural communities, for example by sustaining community shops, the preservation of village amenities such as halls, churches and playgrounds. As there are several Christians in the story, we’re particularly interested in hearing from Christian charities who offer services to everyone regardless of their faith position. Deadline for application: 15th May.

Christmas at Tillingford Hall is about Charlotte restoring the historic gardens at Tillingford Hall and we’re looking to partner with a charity which encourages the planting and conservation of trees or one which increases access to the countryside, particularly for city children. Deadline for application: 15th September.
